My name is Oscar Pedroso, founder of MBA Writer’s Block, a free online admissions resource for young professionals applying to business school. I would like to engage your blog in some form. I was wondering whether you’d be interested in also participating in my essay guide affiliate program. You have awesome content on here and it would be very valuable to my readers. Let me know what you think and whether you’re interested.

Thanks,

Hi Jeremy,
I am from India – I was born and raised there and I currently work in India. I have a 760 GMAT and am sure that I can manage a good LSAT score as well. Do you think the odds of getting into a JD / MBA program are greater than getting into an MBA program at H/S/ W ?
Would you happen to have the stats on what % of applicants to JD/ MBA program at H/S/W are admitted ?
Thanks !
Anita

Hello Jeremy,
Thank you for taking your time and noticing my message. I’m an aspirant of JD/MBA and I have narrowed down certain colleges, which are considered among the best in what it caters to JD aspirants. I’m 28 years old and I’m a full – time trader/Money Manager in Capital markets and I’m still on my path in order to save “some amount” that would satisfy the $200,000 average expenses that is required typically to study for JD.

It is not easy for someone to save even upto half of the aforementioned amount as I’m based in India and when a weaker currency is denominated into US Dollars a lot of sacrifices have to be made. However this is not my main concern.

My main concern is would the school even consider my work experience as a Trader/registered money manager (such as myself) as a pre-requisite and considering I have already put in 7 years of my life into it will it serve to my advantage while applying to these colleges?

Secondly I could get an oppurtunity in US to work but that would again be for a Trader; however I would be simultaneously looking to get an under Grad. Degree in Mathematics in order to strengthen my chances to get into these schools but it would result into waiting some more years before JD happens, will age matter while applying for these course. By the way I’m a CFA Level – 3 candidate and I want to take up mathematics so that it would be relatively easier for me to even later on apply for courses in mathematical finance/econometrics that can be combined with my JD.

Please provide me with your advice for the same.

@Kiran Menon Kiran, I apologize that this reply comes a bit late. Most of my readers submit messags using the form above rather than commenting on the wall here. Please let me know if you are still looking into programs and I’d be happy to send an answer along. Thanks and my apologies again.
